The PSAT

is comparable to the jump from middle school to high school.
Middle school prepares the student for the rigors of the high school curriculum, much in the same way the PSAT prepares the
student for the SAT. The great thing about the PSAT is that the P stands for Preliminary, and the student has all the time in the
world to prepare for it. Certain skills must be refined, certain skills attained, but the student can learn the necessary skills at
a slower pace. There is no reason to rush through each section, as nobody is going to alert the police if scores are nt as high
as they should be.

Nevertheless, the student must be careful not to become too complacent about the PSAT, and is encouraged
to start preparing by reading voraciously - anything from the Sunday newspaper to a favorite gossip column.
All reading is beneficial, even for the word problems in the Math sections. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
The PSAT, when all is said and done, comes down to practice. SOS offers a study plan that encompasses a vast collection of
questions, and a wealth of topics for essay writing. SOS has recognized and prepared for the recently increased emphasis on
writing skills, and our Essay Center will equip you with the skills necessary to improve your writing. Daily use is suggested.
